The Chrysler Build Your Dream Vehicle (BYDV) Competition can be an important part of engineering design. Students build their dream vehicle on paper including financial, marketing, ergonomic, environmental, and development materials. The groups are selected to compete in competition judged by Chrysler officials by virtue of their developmental package. Teams from CHS have competed since 1997 and have placed in the regional competition almost every year. In the 2001-2002 school year, a team was selected to go to Michigan to compete in the two day regional-national competition. While the competition is a big draw for the students, the real benefit is the team work and other invaluable lessons learned through participating in the event.
