Overview
Lift an egg to a platform 40" from the ground. Requirements
The Egg Lifting System (ELS) must lift two eggs, one at a time, to a landing zone which is at a height of 40 inches from the floor and is 10 inches by 10 inches. The egg must remain intact throughout the lifting process and onto the landing zone. The ELS must also leave the landing zone (without the egg) and prepare itself to lift another egg. Each team will be given three chances to lift the two eggs. The ELS must be powered by other than human means. The ELS must be "push-button" operated. The only time that a living being may interact with the device is when it is started. No remote control devices are allowed. No device for catching or stopping the egg may be placed on the landing zone or within 5 inches of the borders of the zone. The egg must be edible when the testing is complete and no residue of any kind may be left on the outside of the eggshell. The design, construction, testing, drawings, and written requirements must all be done by the design team. Any means to protect the egg may be used other than those expressly prohibited by the above requirements.
