Some advanced students choose to do different projects than just 3-dimensional models build in Rhino or AutoCAD. Three chose to build a robot. And then the next year, two of them decided to build a better one. The students who choose to do independent projects like the robot are driven to succeed in engineering and want to get a head start on their engineering careers. They learn how to plan, build, test, and document their projects. All important lessons in engineering.
